I know it’s a silly thing but it also bothers me when people don’t put that hyphen on Spider-Man.

Remember Batman and Superman are two words that go together same goes for Batgirl, Supergirl, and Superboy. In the case of Wonder Woman, Element Girl and other heroes it is usually two separate words (usually both capitalized like if they were names or titles).

The reason why Spider-Man is hyphenated is because when he was created Marvel wanted to distinguish him from Superman, otherwise he would just be Spiderman and it wouldn’t look as cool.

Also Spider-Girl and Spider-Woman are hyphenated, Scarlet Spider isn’t though.

Yesyesyesyesyes, this makes me happy.
